The White Bull is an iconic 1707 built listed property located in the old centre of Ribchester.
Situated opposite original weavers cottages and walking distance from the numerous Roman attractions, The historic Church, the banks of the River Ribble and Ribble Way walk.
The Roman Bath House is directly over the wall in our lovely garden area. There is lots of parking either opposite or within easy walking distance.
The building is possibly one of the most photographed pubs in Britain with its unusual ‘White Bull’ wooden statue above the ‘Pillared’ front added to the building when it was originally used as a court room with holding cell to deal with the local miscreants! The pillars were said to have been found in the river and are said to be Roman in origin and had been part of ‘The temple of Minerva’ a place of worship in Roman times.
In 2019, The White Bull underwent a complete refurbishment with a primary goal of restoring all its original features. The aim was to offer a quintessential British village pub experience, catering to both the local community and visitors, featuring fresh, high-quality food menus and an extensive range of drinks.
There are also 3 beautifully appointed double bedrooms en suite with a private entrance for guests.
